About this event

Join TVCC's Therapeutic Recreation team and Connections Music Therapy for this in-person drumming and music therapy program!

Each week participants will be guided through various activities using drums and other musical instruments. Led by Jess Dickie, owner of Connections Music Therapy, this program will utilize facets of music therapy and expressive arts to encourage creativity, social wellness, and self-confidence.

Through this program, participants will:


  • Engage in physical activity including drumming and dancing
  • Boost their self-confidence through creative expression
  • Practice social skills through turn taking, group activities, and new friendships
  • Learn drumming, music and rhythm skills

Participant Criteria:


  • TVCC clients and their siblings ages 7-11 years old
  • Able to participate in group activities with minimal support; participants are welcome to have a support person present to assist them
  • Able to follow 1-2 step directions
  • Interested in music and drumming

The cost for the 8 week session is $80 payable to Connections Music Therapy. Once you register, we will send you payment instructions. Families may submit receipts to SSAH or Passport funding. To learn more Connections Music Therapy, visit www.connectionsmusictherapy.com.
